Design Nokia has taken a more aesthetic approach when designing the 7610. From one look, the vivid casing colors and stylish keypad layout provide a unique and unforgettable impression. The Nokia 7610 comes in two colors: Silver, Grey and Black/Red, however additional colors can be purchased through Nokia's X-Press cover accessories. The front of the 7610 features a 65K color 176 x 208 px TFT screen. The LCD doubles as a viewfinder when camera mode is enabled. A cascading keypad layout is located below. Users with bad flashbacks of the 3650's rotary keypad can be at ease. Unlike the former, the 7610's artistically designed layout is as functional as it is fashionable, with a 5-way directional keypad to navigate the Symbian OS menu as well..

The back of the Nokia 7610 is colorfully designed with intricate patterns and shapes. It is also where the camera lens lies. Featuring a 1 megapixel built-in camera, the Nokia 7610 has the ability to capture images at up to 1152 x 852 px. Unfortunately the lens is unprotected, so scratches will occur if not careful.
Regardless, due to such a unique design, the Nokia 7610 will not be for the faint of heart. It will surely draw crowds that either love the artistic expression and unconventional curves and lines, or drive away traditionalists who think the 7610 is hideously designed

Camera
Typically cameras on phones today capture images at 640 x 480 px and are incapable of being printed due to the lack of resolution and picture quality. However, the Nokia 7610's 1 megapixel camera allows users to take photos in three sizes: Basic, Normal, and High; for images of up to 1152 x 852 px. Large and high enough in resolution to print great photos, but not comparable to digital cameras.
All photos captured are in JPEG format, while video clips recorded are 3GPP file format. Multimedia can be sent in text messages, as email attachments, or transferred to PC via Bluetooth connection or USB cable.
Video clips can also be captured with the same lens at either Sub QCIF (128 x 96 px) or QCIF (174 x 144 px) modes. Encoded in 3GPP codec (H.263 and AMR) format, an incredible 10 minutes worth of video can be recorded.

Basic Features
The Nokia 7610 is tri-band phone (850 / 1800 / 1900 GSM for North American, and 900 / 1800 / 1900 GSM for Europe and Asia), making it compatible with most GSM networks in North America, Europe, and Asia. Additionally, the 7610 comes with a 900 mAh Li-Ion battery that has maximum talk and standby times of 3.0 and 250 hours respectively under optimal conditions.
The 7610 runs off the Symbian 7.0s OS. Symbian OS is the open standard operating system licensed by the world's leading mobile phone manufacturers. It's specifically designed for phones by providing a robust multitasking kernel, integrated telephony support, communications protocols, data management, and advanced graphics support.
Version 7.0s adds many features to previous editions, however nothing ground breaking. New features include Multiple PDP, which allows users to use multiple networks simultaneously. For example, users can surf the web using GPRS on one account, while download email from GSM data on another. The OS has the ability to intelligently choose network connections based in signal strength, allowing for multiple billing accounts. And multi-threaded multimedia framework (MMF) offers improved audio, video, and imaging.

However, the Nokia 7610 seems to be lacking in audio. While accessories on other manufacturers' phones, consumers have come to know Nokia for their built-in FM radios. And we were just as surprised none was included. In fact, since the 7610 only supports mono audio output, many features such as MP3 players, and radios aren't possible.
But the 7610 isn't just about imaging. Being a Series 60 device built on the Symbian 7.0s OS; the 7610 contains a robust line of applications and games that are already developed for the platforms.
Adding to that strong messaging features, a brilliant 65K TFT screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and enough supplied memory to utilize all the wonderful features, makes the 7610 a well-rounded phone with very few shortcomings
